I have decided that the standard of comments on this blog has fallen to the point where I no longer wish to provide a forum for the various fantasists and grumpy sods to publish their views. Not only have we approached the standard of talkback, we have descended far below it.
As such, only select posts in future will include comments. Such posts will be those where I either ask for feedback on specific topics or issues, or wish to provide a freeforall comments opportunity. The rest of the posts on this blog will henceforth be comment-free.
It is up to those who choose to make comments to show that there is any sign of intelligent debate possible through comments on blogs. If over time I note an improvement then I will happily go back to providing a forum for lively, cut-throat and interesting debate. If not, I'm perfectly happy to maintain the new status quo.
